WORLD RINGETTE CHAMPIONSHIP TO BE TELEVISED ACROSS THE COUNTRY
The 2007 World Ringette Championship will be held in Ottawa, Ontario from October 31 to November 3 and Ringette Canada today announced coast-to-coast television coverage surrounding the gold medal game, which will take place on Saturday, November 3.
Rogers Ontario (Ottawa) will be the host broadcaster of the game and brings considerable experience in broadcasting major events (Canada Day) and major sporting events (Ottawa 67’s hockey, Ottawa Senators pre-season hockey) in order to produce a second-to-none broadcast. By tapping into the networks of community channels across the country, Ringette Canada, through Rogers Ontario, has provided a broadcast footprint for coast-to-coast coverage thereby making the game accessible to ringette and sports fans throughout Canada. Working with Rogers 23 (Ottawa) we will also be providing the same outstanding broadcast, in French, for francophone cable markets.
Cable channels across the country will be picking up the game based on their own broadcast schedule. Competing against Finland, the USA and Sweden, Team Canada will endeavor to recapture the gold medal, which was won by Finland in 2004. Interestingly enough, Team Canada has never failed to win the gold medal when the World Championship has been contested on home soil. The gold medal game of the 2007 World Ringette Championship will definitely be an exciting game to watch.
