Western Canadian Ringette Championships


The Western Canadian Ringette Championships is a three-day tournament showcasing the best Ringette teams from the four Western Provinces, competing in the Tween AA, Junior A and Belle A divisions.

History of the Western Canadian Ringette Championships

They were first held in 1997 with four Tween AA teams from Alberta and Saskatchewan involved. Tween AA teams from British Columbia and Manitoba came on board in 1998 as well as a Host team. The first Junior A teams participated in 2002 and the first Belle A teams competed in 2003 to make up the present day team count of 15 teams attending. - One team from each Province in each division, as well as 3 host teams.

Overview of the Western Canadian Ringette Championships

The Western Canadian Ringette Championships are to be held yearly no later than March 31 and preferably should not conflict with the Canadian Ringette Championships that are normally held during the first 10 days of April. Any exception to this requires the prior approval of the WCRC Governing Authority.

The acronym for the Western Canadian Ringette Championships is WCRC.
