Late Registration & Refund Policy

Late Registration and Refund Policy
(Adopted by PGRA Board January 8, 2007)
(Updated with 2008/2009 fees)
Both the Late Registrations and Refund of Registrations must take into account PGRA’s fixed fees that we pay annually to the British Columbia Ringette Association (BCRA) and the Northern League.  As of September 2008, the fixed fees identified in the BCRA Policy Manual and from the Northern League are as follows:

Bunny and Masters:
BCRA Fee:  $46.32
Coaches Fee: $2.19
Officials Fee: $3.44
Ringette Canada Fee: $12.00
Insurance Fee:$2.79
Fundraising Fee (PGRA): $10.00
Bursury Fee (Northern League): $1.00
CWG Travel Fee (Northern League): $0.50
Total Fixed Fee: $78.24
All Other Divisions:
BCRA Fee: $46.32
BCRA Provincial Tournament Fund Fee: $3.00
BCRA National Teams Fund Fee:  $9.10
Sport Development Fee: $0.70
Scholarship Fund Fee: $1.25
World Championships Fee: $0.35
Canada Winter Games Fee: $0.60
BC Winter Games Fee: $1.71 (as of 2008/2009)

Late Registration
Late Player Registration will only be accepted to January 15th of each season.
Prior to January 15th, registration fees will be based on a prorate of the approximate number of days in PGRA’s Ringette season beginning on approximately September 15th and ending on approximately March 31st.  For the purpose of this policy, 198 total ringette days will be used.  The number of days for each month will be:  September (16), October (31), November (30), December (31), January (31), February (28), March (31).
Example:  A Bunny player registers on November 15th, the fee calculation will be as follows:
Prorate for Remainder of Season: Nov (17), Dec (31), Jan (31), Feb (28), Mar (31) = 138 days
138 Days divided by 198 days multiplied by 100 = 69.697%
Bunny Fees for the season:  $180 less fixed fees $78.24 = $101.76 multiplied by prorate 69.70% = $70.92
Therefore the Late Registration fee for this Bunny player would be:
Fixed Fee:                     $78.24
Prorate Fee:                  $70.92
Total Fee:                    $149.16
Cancellation of Registration
  • Cancellations occurring between September 15th and November 30th  will only receive the prorate fee for the remaining season.
  • Cancellations after December 1st are not eligible for any refund with the exception of medical reasons supported by a letter from a family physician.
  • Refund cheques will only be issued after confirmation that the players cheque has been cashed into the PGRA Account.
  • PGRA will issue eligible refund cheques within 60 days of receiving the cancellation request.
  • All cancellation requests must be in writing and to the Attention of the Registrar.
Example:  A Petite player cancels their registration on October 5th.  Refund would be calculated as follows:
Prorate for Remainder of Season: Oct (26), Nov (30), Dec (31), Jan (31), Feb (28), Mar (31) = 177 days.  
177 Days divided by 198 days multiplied by 100 = 89.39%
Petite Fees for the season:  $320 (or $265 for early registration) less fixed fees $94.95 = $225.05 multiplied by prorate 89.39% = $201.17
Therefore the Refund for this Petite player would be:
Fixed Fee:                        $0.00
Prorate Fee:                  $201.17
Total Refund:                 $201.17
