Prince George Ringette Association

U19 Team Canada

U19 National Team
The U19 National Team is an International Ringette Federation event to which Finland and Canada will send Junior National Teams (Under 19) and other participating countries will send their "regular" National Teams.

Why?
In an effort to attract more countries to international ringette events, the IRF developed this concept at their last congress meeting. This “Junior” World Championship will be an opportunity for developing countries to attend an international event without having to face power-houses such as Finland’s and Canada’s National Teams.

When?
The event is slated to take place in the summer of 2009.

Note: Why 2009? With the addition of the World Club Championship in 2008 the IRF will have a major event every year. All will run on a 3-year cycle.
Where?
Canada is heading to Europe! The U19 World Ringette Championship location TBD.
Who?
Canada will send two teams: Canada East and Canada West. Athletes must be under the age of 19 on December 31st, 2008 in order to be eligible to compete in the event. View the selected athletes for Canada
