"Catch the Spirit"
Prince George Ringette Association is proud to have been awarded the 2008 Western Canadian Ringette Championships being held in Prince George from March 26-29, 2008.
The organizing committee of the 2008 WCRC wishes to welcome your participation as a sponsor.
Ringette, the 44-year-old Canadian invention has become one of the fastest team sports on ice, involving tens of thousands of girls and women, all across Canada.
Ringette is played on ice with skates and sticks by six players per side. The stick is straight. The object being pursued is a rubber ring. There is no intentional body contact. The rules of ringette make it a wide-open and dynamic sport.
Most importantly, Ringette has been a wonderful winter sport option for young girls and women. Although Ringette was developed to provide a winter recreational activity for girls, it has evolved into a sport in its own right and is flexible enough to accommodate boys.
Many parents choose to place their children in Ringette, where they tend to develop skills quickly at an early age, due to Ringette’s focus on the basic fundamentals of skating, passing and shooting.
Your valued sponsorship will allow us to host this major western championship. Our budget for this event totals $70,000 and your contributions will help facilitate the cost of ice rentals, promotion and marketing, communications, transportation, accommodations, ceremonial activities, and athlete recognition at the awards banquet.
Our goal is to host a first–rate event showcasing Ringette, and to ensure that the 2008 WCRC is both a memorable experience, that all participants from across western Canada will always treasure, as well as being a financial success.
